Step 1: Prepare Your KYY Portable Monitor

Carefully unpack and inspect your monitor before beginning the setup process

Instructions

  • Carefully unpack your KYY portable monitor from its packaging
  • Inspect the monitor for any physical damage that may have occurred during shipping
  • Remove all protective films from the screen and body of the monitor
  • Read the quick start guide included in the package
  • Check all included cables (USB-C and/or HDMI)
  • Clear a clean, flat workspace to prevent accidental drops or scratches

Preparation Checklist

Step 2: Position Your Monitor

Set up your monitor on a stable surface for the best viewing experience

Positioning Instructions

  • Place the monitor on a stable, flat table or desk
  • If your KYY monitor has a built-in kickstand, unfold it carefully
  • For models with a magnetic cover, position it as a stand
  • Adjust the stand angle for comfortable viewing (typically 15-70 degrees)
  • Ensure the surface is level to prevent the monitor from toppling over
  • Position the monitor at eye level to reduce neck strain during extended use

Positioning Tips

Stability Issues

If the monitor feels unstable, check that all stand components are fully extended and locked in place. Use a non-slip mat if needed.

Viewing Angle

Adjust the angle so there’s no glare from lights or windows. The top of the screen should be at or slightly below eye level.

Portability Setup

For temporary setups, ensure the surface is clean and dry. Avoid uneven surfaces that could cause the monitor to slide.

Step 3: Connect to Power Source

Provide adequate power to your portable monitor for optimal performance

Power Connection Instructions

  • Check if your KYY monitor model requires external power or if it’s powered via USB-C
  • If external power is needed, connect the power adapter to the monitor’s power port
  • Plug the power adapter into a working electrical outlet
  • For USB-C powered models, ensure your device can deliver sufficient power (typically 45W or more)
  • Check the power indicator light on the monitor (usually turns blue or white when powered)
  • If using a power bank for portability, ensure it has adequate output (15V/2A or as specified)

Power Troubleshooting

No Power Indicator

Check the power cable connection at both ends. Try a different outlet. Verify the power adapter specifications match your monitor’s requirements.

Intermittent Power

This may indicate insufficient power delivery. Try a different power adapter with higher wattage or connect directly to a wall outlet instead of a power strip.

USB-C Power Issues

Ensure your USB-C cable supports power delivery. Some cables are for data only. Try the original cable that came with your monitor.

Step 4: Connect to Your Device

Establish connection between your KYY monitor and your laptop, phone, or other device

Connection Methods

  • USB-C Connection: Connect one end of USB-C cable to monitor, other end to your device’s USB-C port
  • HDMI Connection: Connect HDMI cable from device to monitor; may need separate power connection
  • For Modern Laptops/Phones: USB-C often carries both video and power (single cable solution)
  • For Older Devices: Use HDMI + USB-C power cable combination
  • For Gaming Consoles: Connect via HDMI, ensure console display settings support external monitor
  • Check Connection: Ensure cables are firmly connected at both ends

Step 5: Configure Display Settings

Adjust your monitor and device settings for the optimal viewing experience

Display Configuration

  • Windows: Right-click desktop → Display Settings → Detect Display → Choose Extend/Duplicate
  • Mac: System Preferences → Displays → Arrangement tab → Adjust display position
  • Android: Some phones automatically switch to desktop mode (like Samsung DeX)
  • Use monitor’s physical buttons to adjust brightness, contrast, and volume
  • Set appropriate resolution in display settings for optimal clarity
  • Adjust orientation (landscape/portrait) based on your preference and monitor support

Common Issues & Solutions

No Display Detected

Check cable connections. Try a different cable or port. Restart your device. Update graphics drivers.

Screen Flickering

Usually indicates power issues. Connect to external power source. Try a higher wattage power adapter.

Low Resolution

Adjust display settings on your device. Ensure you’re using a high-quality cable that supports your desired resolution.

No Sound from Monitor Speakers

Check audio output settings on your device. Select the monitor as audio output device. Adjust volume using monitor buttons.
